About me

I grew up in a small village in West Berkshire and spent most of my life in the south before moving up north to study Business Management and Spanish at the University of Manchester. Still a true southerner, I must admit I feel that I have a little Mancunian in me now, having lived in the city centre since 2006 and lived and breathed the warm, friendly atmosphere of Manchester. I am grateful to my boyfriend (a true northerner) for introducing me to what is now one of my favourite places to visit, the beautiful and charming Lake District. In recent years we have scaled the length and breadth of the UK on weekend breaks to places such as Newcastle and Shrewsbury, hiking trips up Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis; day trips in and around Lancashire/Cumbria and some fun and eventful camping trips.

Whilst there are still countless places in my own back yard yet to visit, I can’t help looking at my world map for the next country to visit. From Papua New Guinea to the USA, Peru to China, Australia to Costa Rica, I have been fortunate to set foot in 27 countries to date.  My list of countries yet to visit, like any of you out there who have caught that well known ‘travel bug’, just keeps on growing with each new trip!

  1. Hi Christina,

My name is Andrea and I'm a Spanish girl living in Manchester. I really like your blog and have been following it for a while :-) I have a blog too and, in fact, I've just 'nominated' you to do the HostelBookers 7 Super Shots game (only if you want to!)(http://andreaperezarduna.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/hostelbookers-7-super-shots.html).

Also, I've seen that you studied Spanish - let me know if you feel like meeting up sometime!

    Andrea
